Terms of Service

Connect has adopted the following Terms of Service which govern your relationship with Connect and provide important information about your legal rights (“Terms”). These Terms use you interchangeably with user, and also use you interchangeably with Member; and use uswe and Connect interchangeably.

These Terms explain the guidelines you need to follow when visiting and interacting with the Connect site located at Connect.cen.edu.au

The Connect site offers a platform for Christian educators to discuss educational issues and share resources, polices, and strategies. To browse forums and resources, users must register for a Connect account (Account) and become a Connect member (Member).

By using our Connect Services as a Member, users agree to follow these Terms, including the terms of our Conditions of Membership, the Connect Community Guidelines, Forum Guidelines and Rules, Resource Guidelines and User Agreement, and Privacy Policy.

Conditions of Membership

This section provides information on who is eligible to join our Connect community, how to create an account, and the types of accounts we offer. To use many of the features of our Services, we require you to register as a Member with us.
Connect is administered by the Connect Team. The Connect Team oversees the following guidelines and member use agreements:

By registering for an Account or using our Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.

Members are to have an interest in Christian Education, either as a tertiary preservice or post-graduate student, and or as a relief, part-time or full-time employee at a school or educational organisation (this may be Christian, independent or government, primary, secondary or tertiary). Members are to act always in a manner consistent with the Christian faith and work towards the best interest of Christian education.

When users create an Account, the information provided needs to be true and accurate.

Provision of false information or information that violates someone else’s rights may be cause for the Connect management to disable membership.

We may ask for proof of age or identity at any time in order to verify Account membership and we may close or suspend access to member Accounts if we are unable to verify your identity.

If your Account has been deactivated by the Connect Team you will be notified and can contact the Connect Team for clarification.

On registration, users will be asked to provide a username for the Account. The username must be unique, and must not be inappropriate, nor offensive, nor in violation of another person’s rights.

Users will be asked to create a password to protect the Account. Together this information is used to access the Account.

It is the responsibility of members to keep login information confidential. Members are responsible for any and all activity that happens under their Account whether or not you authorized it. If members believe that their Account has been accessed by an unauthorized person, please contact the Connect Team as quickly as possible at [email protected] so we can help.

We may, in our discretion, make changes to the Memberships we offer, the privileges and features available to each Membership.

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Connect, and they govern your relationship with Connect. Becoming a Member of our Services does not create an agency, employment, or partnership relationship between you and Connect. Connect is not an employer of and does not act as an agent for any Member.

All members will be sent notification to renew their Membership after five years.

ACCOUNT CLOSURE

We may, in our discretion, close or suspend the Account of any Member at any time for any reason, with or without notice. However, in this case, Members will be notified of our action.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue offering our Services at any time. Any suspension or discontinuation in our Services may mean that that your Account, including any Resources or other materials you may have purchased from our Services, and any Resources or Communications (collectively “Content”) you may have uploaded to our Services, may not be available to you or to other Users. We are not liable to you for any impact a change, suspension, or discontinuation of our Services may have including the loss of access to any Resources.

Resource Guidelines and User Agreement

The Connect Resources section contains practical teaching resources shared by Christian educators to benefit and strengthen the work of educators around the nation and beyond.

RESOURCES

Members are encouraged to share resources.

Members may not use any Resource, in part or in whole, for commercial purposes. This means users cannot sell it, use it for advertising or marketing purposes, or use it in any other way in Connection with a business or profit making activity.

Members posting resources should make clear the author or the resources and the intended use.

Where Members download resources, they are to respect the intended use of the resource and where possible and as appropriate, acknowledge the source of the resource.

When Members post or upload Content to our Services, Members grant Connect limited rights to store, use, and display, and provide access to the Content posted as necessary to provide our Services, such as to display your Resource in your store and in search results, to make Resources available for download, and to display and promote Resources through our Services, and through email.

When a Member downloads free Resources from the Connect site, Members allow other Members to use Resources as described in the Resource Sharing Guidelines.

RESOURCES GUIDELINES

The following guidelines have been implemented to oversee the distribution and use of resources from the Connect website. These guidelines have been developed to help maintain the quality of resources uploaded and ensure that these resources are used to strengthen the quality of Christian education and nurture the growth of individual educators as professionals.

Connect reserves the right to access and review all material posted and or uploaded on Connect. Connect reserves the right to move, rename, or delete any resource that is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or fails to conform to the Connect user guidelines.

If you have an issue concerning Connect services, policies or staff, please contact [email protected]. Complaints will be taken seriously and all efforts will be taken to address them.

RESOURCES USER AGREEMENT

  1. All resources that are uploaded to Connect are void of profanity or foul language.
  2. The content of uploaded resources does not contain links to inappropriate websites that may violate any applicable Child Protection legislation.
  3. On uploading a resource, you give permission for other users to download and use these programs within their own educational context. Other users may make adjustments to your resources. Specifically you warrant that you either own any intellectual property rights in the resources or hold a sufficient licence from the true owner to permit you to make the resources available for download on the platform and freely for use by Members.
  4. In downloading resources for your own use, you agree to adhere to professional principles, recognising that the use of teaching resources requires thought, reflection and adjustment to fit your own educational context.
  5. Where a program or resource is a work in progress, it is clearly tagged with ‘work in progress’ when uploaded.
